Team Management

Control who has access to your BreakGround company by inviting team members, assigning roles, and managing permissions from Settings > Team.

Roles and Permissions

Every team member is assigned one of four roles. Permissions are enforced across the dashboard and API.

RoleDescription
OWNERFull access including billing, team management, and ownership transfer. Each company has exactly one Owner.
ADMINFull access to content, analytics, and settings. Cannot manage billing or transfer ownership.
EDITORCreate, edit, and publish flows, tooltips, surveys, and other content. Cannot access settings or team management.
VIEWERRead-only access to analytics dashboards and published content. Cannot create or modify anything.

Inviting Members

  1. Navigate to Settings > Team.
  2. Click Invite Member and enter the new member's email address.
  3. Select the role to assign.
  4. The invitee receives an email with an invitation link that expires after 7 days.
  5. Once accepted, the member appears in your team list with the assigned role.

If the invitee already has a BreakGround account, they are added to the company immediately upon accepting. New users complete registration first.

Changing Roles

Owners and Admins can change a member's role from the team list. Click the role badge next to a member's name and select the new role. Role changes take effect immediately.

note

Only the Owner can promote a member to Admin. Admins cannot change the Owner's role.

Removing Members

  1. Locate the member in Settings > Team.
  2. Click Remove and confirm the action.
  3. The member immediately loses access to the company.

Removed members can be re-invited later. Their previous activity remains in the audit log.

Transferring Ownership

The current Owner can transfer ownership to any Admin:

  1. Go to Settings > Team and select the target Admin.
  2. Click Transfer Ownership and confirm.
  3. The previous Owner is demoted to Admin.

Ownership transfer is logged in the audit log and cannot be undone except by the new Owner.
